About ham

THE GOODNESS OF HAM

Ham possesses exceptional gastronomic qualities, such as its superb aroma and flavour. However, it also possesses numerous health-promoting qualities: it is rich in protein, vitamins B1 and B6 (beneficial to the nervous system and brain function) and contains many minerals and fats.

VITAMINS

Serrano ham is particularly rich in vitamins from the B group, which play a vital role in the correct operation of our metabolic function and help prevent the production of LDL and the development of heart disease.

SELENIUM

Selenium helps the operation of the immune system and normal thyroid function, helps us maintain healthy hair and nails and protects cells against oxidative damage.

ZINC

Zinc contributes to the healthy metabolism of carbohydrates, fatty acids and vitamin A and helps maintain healthy bones, hair, nails and skin.

PROTEINS

Proteins help increase and retain muscle mass and maintain healthy bones.

PHOSPHORUS

Phosphorus contributes to healthy energy metabolism and helps maintain bones and teeth.

POTASSIUM

Potassium contributes to the healthy functioning of the nervous system and muscles and helps maintain normal blood pressure.

STORAGE AND PRESERVATION

Whole hams should be hung or placed on ham stands in a cool, dry location.

Once opened, the ham should be covered with a cotton cloth to prevent it from drying out.
